At Ship Thrifty, we believe that technology should make life simpler, not more complicated. Our journey started with a simple idea—to streamline the shipping for individuals and small businesses. With two decades of experience across finance, healthcare, and technology, we set out to create a shipping platform that eliminates the confusion and complexity many people face. Ship Thrifty started as a way to make shipping easier for everyone.
But a simple request from a military family member preparing for deployment changed everything. They asked if we could make military shipping easier. That question opened our eyes to the challenges military families face when trying to send care packages overseas—confusing rules, high costs, and overwhelming paperwork.
Expanding Our Mission to Support Military Families
From that moment, our mission expanded. We became passionate about creating better solutions for military families and those who support them. We developed custom military shipping features into Ship Thrifty to make it easier for military families and nonprofits sending care packages to the troops. To further support this mission, we created Ship To Military, a free online resource packed with information, packing tips, savings tips, and more to help with military shipping.
Listening to Nonprofits: A New Challenge Emerged
As we worked closely with nonprofits that send care packages to troops, we started hearing a recurring theme: these organizations weren’t just struggling with shipping—they were struggling to grow and thrive. They lacked affordable, simple technology to help them share their stories, raise funds, and engage supporters. They were being stretched thin and unable to focus on their missions because they lacked the right tools to thrive in today’s digital world.
Introducing 501 Tech Stack

This led us to create 501 Tech Stack. 501 Tech Stack helps organizations streamline donations, enhance their online presence, and engage volunteers and supporters better. Our goal is simple: to level the playing field and empower nonprofits to amplify their impact through technology.
